What is a 1031 Exchange?

1031 is a section of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code that permits investors to exchange one investment or business property for another while deferring the tax consequence. 

What is An Accommodator?

A 1031 Exchange Accommodator or Qualified Intermediary, is an unrelated party, authorized and required under section1031 of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, to facilitate the tax deferred sale of your property and purchase of a replacement property.

When SHOULD I CONTACT AN ACCOMMODATOR?

We recommend you contact us shortly before you list your property. If your property is already in escrow, please contact us immediately. In most cases, you will lose the ability to defer capital gains taxes if you close escrow without an Accommodator.
